God gives us free will, society takes it away from us ...
SYNOPSIS
The intent of the work is to arouse, through the comic-satirical style, a reflection on the alienation of the human being, to try to make him become aware of how he has become prey to his own arrogance, caused by materialistic and narcissistic societies, and how this has made him confused, frantic, worried, always anxious because he is far from his own self and forgetful of his contact with Nature, his fellow men, other living beings and God.

DIRECTOR'S NOTES
The title reflects the theme of the work, but it is in a certain sense "specious", as the author-narrator with "I'm bad outside" does not mean "I'm bad outside", but "we are all bad outside", " the human being is bad outside ”, that is everyone“ is bad outside ”, in the society in which he is forced to live.
There is no sarcastic intent, but rather uplifting as the second part of the work is impregnated with a mystical-spiritual "allure" that encourages, we would say, the human being to find the meaning of existence in the profound values.
REVIEWS
"I'M BAD OUT". A show by the actor and author Mario Pascariello, with the precious direction of Tommaso Miceli, Wednesday 02.dec.09 from AltoTasso.
An unmissable show, where the actor's Satura Lanx, serves us a colorful dish, and in an absolutely free form, of a theatrical genre capable of showing the contradictions of a contemporary society distracted by itself! Pascariello proves to be a new Aristophanes who, responding to the needs of a modern human spirit, showing its internal contradictions, relevant in politics, sex, religion and death, sows fundamental doubts to promote THE CHANGE that all of us, underneath, hope! It leads us into an oscillating space between the sacred and the profane that through laughter, close to the intelligence, attacks those prejudices, small but annoying that man shares with man, ignoring more and more that his category of man must undergo, in reality to the corrosive component of the "nature boundary"! ... therefore, we can laugh at ourselves, and at any constituted authority.

A captivating monologue with simple and incisive, sparkling and intimate jokes ... sudden changes of mimicry and linguistic games aimed at breaking the "illusory brakes" of paradigms and dusting off the beauty that still exists.
Mario Pascariello, an open smile and an imaginative face around, a contemporary mask lent to the mime and to the variegated emotions that chaotic reality forces, although, from this face, intimately grim images never emerge, but expressions of hope, relief and childish amazement.
A well-structured performance, accompanied by small sound cuts and video footage; intellectual, spiritual and musical quotes. Different roads leading to the same base: being in harmony with oneself and with the natural that we can still enjoy ...
The interpretation of Mario, comical and intelligent, is proof that there is still someone ready to reject comedy as a form of banal entertainment ...
... the scene is studded with sudden changes of mimicry and puns that are never obvious, aimed at breaking "the illusory brakes" of common paradigms ...
With veils of neo-romanticism, existential satire, poetry and simplicity, “I'm bad outside” urges the viewer to meditate. To come out of oneself, from the prepackaging of thought ...
Hence a good part of the theatrical reflection of “I'm bad out”, aimed at the animal world and its behaviors compared to human ones ... ".
Valentina Gaglione, teacher and writer (Bologna - Fantomas Theater, 23/06/2010)
We know the expression "I feel bad inside" which proposes the idea of an inner malaise, the most superficial cure of which is sought outside the individual through "strong" substances, situations and experiences that anesthetize the conscience only for the moment. which they are in action. The care of the effect and not of the cause belongs to our Western culture.
Pascariello, under the careful direction of Malaguti, offers us an inverted perspective that arises from the observation of this paradox: if modern man is "bad inside" and seeks a solution-palliative outside, if he realizes that he is "ill" outside "perhaps he will finally seek a solution within himself, in his own attitudes, in his own mental schemes, in his own conditioning and in his own crystallized prejudices.
And this inner transformation can be done with a smile:
"With an acrobatic and irreverent comedy, Mario Pascariello stages a monologue of existential satire, which under the surface of a sardonic histrionics full of gags and hilarious flashes conveys, with an original human-animal confrontation, deep reflections on the alienation of human being prey to his own arrogance which made him lose contact with Nature and with God.
